Terms & Conditions

Last updated: July 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using Bonzino, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. By completing sign-up and ticking the acceptance checkbox, you also agree to the Data Processing Agreement in Section 6, which constitutes a binding DPA under GDPR Art. 28.

2. Service description

Bonzino is operated by Baseplate Technologies Ltd (company number 17333932, registered in England and Wales), with its registered office at 66 Paul Street, London, EC2A 4NA, United Kingdom. Bonzino provides an affiliate marketing platform that enables merchants to track referrals, calculate commissions, and manage payouts to their affiliates. The platform integrates with Stripe for payment processing.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials confidential. You are liable for all activity under your account.

4. Pricing and billing

Bonzino charges a monthly subscription fee plus a percentage of affiliate-driven revenue. Pricing is displayed at signup and may be updated with 30 days notice. A 14-day free trial is provided for new accounts.

5. Merchant responsibilities

Merchants are responsible for their affiliate relationships, including commission payments, programme rules, and compliance with applicable laws. Bonzino facilitates tracking but does not guarantee affiliate performance.

Merchants who install track.js on their websites are responsible for:

  • Disclosing the use of the Bonzino attribution cookie to their website visitors in their own privacy policy.
  • Including the cookie in their website's cookie consent banner or notice, where required by applicable law (including PECR in the UK and ePrivacy law in the EU).
  • Obtaining any consent from their website visitors that is required under applicable law before the attribution cookie is set.

The cookie set by track.js is named _us_<your-bonzino-key>_id, has a duration of up to 90 days (configurable by the merchant in programme settings; default 60 days), and is set on the merchant's own domain — not on bonzino.com. Its sole purpose is to attribute a visitor's referral source for commission calculation.

6. Data Processing Agreement (DPA)

This section constitutes the data processing agreement between Bonzino ("Processor") and the merchant ("Controller") as required by UK GDPR Art. 28 and EU GDPR Art. 28. It applies to personal data processed by Bonzino on the Controller's behalf through the track.js tracking script and associated webhook processing.

6.1 Subject matter and duration

The subject matter of the processing is the attribution of affiliate referrals for the Controller's affiliate marketing programme. The duration is co-terminous with the Controller's active Bonzino subscription.

6.2 Nature and purpose of processing

The Processor processes personal data to: (a) store a click identifier cookie on the Controller's domain; (b) record click events when a visitor follows an affiliate referral link; (c) attribute completed Stripe transactions to the originating click; (d) calculate and record commissions owed to affiliates; and (e) provide analytics on referral performance to the Controller via the Bonzino dashboard.

6.3 Type of personal data and categories of data subjects

Data subjects: visitors to the Controller's website who have clicked an affiliate referral link, and customers of the Controller who complete a purchase.

Personal data categories: randomly generated click identifier (UUID); IP address (hashed for fraud prevention — raw IP not stored); email address (received via Stripe webhook on purchase completion, used solely for commission attribution).

No special category data (Art. 9) is processed by the Processor.

6.4 Obligations and rights of the Controller

The Controller (merchant) must: (a) have a lawful basis for the processing described above; (b) provide a privacy notice to their website visitors that describes this processing; (c) obtain any consent required under applicable law; (d) promptly notify the Processor of any data subject requests relating to personal data processed by the Processor on the Controller's behalf; and (e) notify the Processor of any known security incidents affecting personal data held by the Processor.

The Controller may request: (a) deletion of personal data relating to a specific data subject; (b) a copy of personal data processed on their behalf; and (c) confirmation that the Processor's technical and organisational security measures remain adequate. Send such requests to privacy@bonzino.com.

6.5 Sub-processors

The Processor uses the sub-processors listed in the Bonzino Privacy Policy (Stripe, Resend, Supabase, Vercel, PostHog, Sentry). The Controller authorises the use of these sub-processors upon acceptance of these Terms.

7. Affiliate data handling

Affiliates who join a merchant's programme through Bonzino have a direct contractual relationship with Bonzino for the purposes of managing their account, receiving commission notifications, and processing payouts. Bonzino is the data controller for affiliates' account data (name, email address, payout details). The merchant is not a controller of affiliate personal data except to the extent that the merchant's programme configuration determines commission rates and eligibility.

8. Self-referral and fraud

Affiliates must promote merchant products honestly and in compliance with applicable advertising standards (including ASA CAP Code rules on disclosure of commercial relationships). The following are prohibited:

  • Self-referral: clicking your own affiliate link to purchase
  • Artificial inflation of click counts through automated tools, bots, or click exchanges
  • Misleading promotion, including false claims about products or undisclosed incentivised reviews
  • Using coupon or promo codes on sites or platforms not authorised by the merchant

Bonzino and the merchant both reserve the right to withhold commission payments, claw back previously paid commissions, and suspend or terminate affiliate accounts where fraudulent activity is identified or reasonably suspected. Decisions on fraud are final at the merchant's discretion. Bonzino may suspend platform access independently where activity violates these Terms.

9. Termination

Either party may terminate at any time. Upon merchant account closure, outstanding affiliate commissions that have cleared the programme's clearance window remain payable. Account data is retained for 90 days to allow recovery, then scheduled for deletion per our Privacy Policy.

10. Limitation of liability

Bonzino is provided "as is". We are not liable for lost revenue, missed commissions due to technical failures, or disputes between merchants and affiliates.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

12. Contact
